Dear Parents,
Thank you for your recent inquiry with us regarding childcare for your family. The Calgary Premium Day Homes Network are various program owners, some owning single programs and others owning multiple locations in various different Calgary communities, in order to accommodate parents and their need for premium home based childcare & preschool.
We are excited you have chosen to inquire with us and look forward to finding the right program for your family!
The curriculum and policies that the Calgary Premium Day Homes Network has established are what you can expect at all of the program locations across many different communities. In addition to the information contained in this letter, please check our site for more detailed information about our Network, Program and Communities we serve.
We start this initial process by inviting you to an open house information session hosted by the Calgary Premium Day Homes Network which will be set at one of our operational programs so that you can experience the environment and understand our program, look through our curriculum, and learn about our enrollment policies.
Please note: open houses are not necessarily set at the location, or within the community where you may be seeking childcare. This is normal as we invite all new inquiries to the next available open house regardless of the desired community or location since all our programs are set up on a tried and tested design template. All our programs adhere to the same high standards, procedures and policies.
We encourage you attend our next available open house regardless of location in order to make an initial decision to learn more about us!
Once you have attended an open house you will have the option to make a decision to join our active placement list. In order to do this, you will be required to pay a non refundable $100 (plus gst) processing fee as well as pass to us your completed childcare inquiry form. For some who have had recommendations about our programs and service choose to join the placement list ahead of time and then join us at the open house. The choice is yours and placements are made in order of payment of the processing fee.
Once you are on the placement list, the owner of the programs located in your communities you indicate will actively work on your placement. We only require 1 calendar months notice from current clients reducing their days or leaving the program, so often you will not know if you have a place until 1 month prior to your desired start date. Occasionally (rarely) a spot may not come available on your desired start date, however, by being on the placement list you can be assured that when a spot becomes available you would be next in line and be offered that placement. Once an appropriate spot is identified for you, the owner of the program will arrange a personal tour of the location and the opportunity to meet the program director/caregiver/teacher. After that meeting you will have the option to accept or decline the placement.
The benefit of the Calgary Premium Day Homes Network is that we have an overview of all of the programs and also control expansion of new programs. It is quite rare we cannot offer a placement within the time frame prospective clients require care. The Calgary Premium Day Homes Network has an overview of all availability and will work with families and program owners to offer various placement options, in addition to coordinating with families wanting to move programs within the Network (if they move house for example).
We are excited you have chosen to inquire with us and look forward to finding the right program for your family!

Common Questions
- Director/Child ratio: Clients may have their children attend part-time (1 to 4 days per week) or full-time (5 days per week) but there are never more than 6 children attending the program per day. There is one teacher/caregiver in each program for the care of those 6 children, supported logistically by the administration of each program owner.
- Year-Round Childcare: Calgary Premium Day Homes Network day homes and preschools are open year-round. We do close for statutory holidays and for one week at Christmas. We have a calendar that is provided to all our clients that lists those dates for the year. If a director needs to be absent from a program (holiday, illness etc.), we provide a substitute director to cover the program. This allows the programs to offer uninterrupted childcare even if there is a change of director.
- Standard Pricing per month: 5 days/week: $1400 4 days/week: $1120 3 days/week $840 2 days/week $560 1 day/week $280
We are a Private Dayhome and are not subsidized by the government. The pricing above is the same throughout the VPCN. Inner City Pricing & Aspen: All inner city & Aspen based programs range in price between $1400 - $1500 for a full time space, with part time prorated from the full time amount. This variation is due to the different operating costs in different communities our program owners must manage. - Preschool: Many parents ask the question “When is it appropriate to move a child into a preschool program?” The answer is that typically, a child will be showing signs of readiness for preschool around 2.5 –3 years of age. This, of course depends largely on the maturity of the child and what stage the child is at developmentally. If he/she is showing signs of being able to focus for longer periods of time, for example, while building something, putting a puzzle together, drawing something, listening to a story, etc. those are some indications of readiness for preschool. If your child is starting to do more independently that is also a sign of readiness. Please keep in mind that our preschools are from 3-5 years of age and therefore your child should be 3 years of age in order to start. It is also preferred that children are potty trained prior to starting preschool. Working with the program owner of you childcare will ensure the move is made at the correct time for your child and when logistically possible.
Next Steps
Please confirm that you would like to attend an open house to learn more. If your desired start date is fast approaching them let me know and we may have to bypass the open house and go straight to an individual meeting in order to “fast track” you through and do a tour of a day home right away.
We look forward to getting to know you and your little angels!
Warmest Regards,
Calgary Premium Day Homes Team
